Shubman Gill slams century on Test captaincy debut upon taking over Virat Kohli's No. 4 spot
Indian captain Shubman Gill achieved a century on his Test captaincy debut, finishing the first day of the opening match against England in Leeds with a score of 127* off 175 balls, featuring 16 fours and one six. He donned the black blazer for the first time during the toss on Friday as he embraced the leadership role at just 25 years old.
Although the coin toss didn’t favor him, Ben Stokes inadvertently benefited the Indian team by opting to have them bat first in the bright weather.
