Rohit Sharma leads Mumbai Indians to a commanding 6-wicket victory against Lucknow Super Giants.
Mumbai Indians secured a commanding victory over Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets, thanks to impressive half-centuries from openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton in a high-scoring Indian Premier League encounter on Monday.

Rohit delivered a spectacular 84 runs from 44 deliveries, forming a solid 143-run opening partnership with Rickelton, who scored 83 off just 32 balls. This performance propelled Mumbai Indians past the 228 runs set by Lucknow Super Giants, achieving the target in 18.4 overs and marking their third win out of 10 matches, bringing their points to six.

On the other hand, Lucknow remained at the bottom of the standings with only four points from nine games played.
Earlier, LSG, sitting last in the table, sparked some hope as Nicholas Pooran hit his first half-century of the season, leading Rishabh Pant’s team to a total of 228/5.

LSG benefitted from a stunning 63 runs off 21 balls by Pooran, while opener Mitchell Marsh added 44 in a significantly improved batting effort during their ninth match of the season.

However, captain Pant’s difficulties continued as he could only tally 15 runs in what has been a disappointing season for him, while Aiden Markram (31 not out) and Himmat Singh (40 not out) provided a strong finish.

Brief scores: Lucknow Super Giants: 228 for 5 in 20 overs (Mitchell Marsh 44, Nicholas Pooran 63, Aiden Markram 31 not out, Himmat Singh 40 not out; Corbin Bosch 2/20).

Mumbai Indians: 229 for 4 in 18.4 overs (Ryan Rickelton 83, Rohit Sharma 84, Manimaran Siddharth 2/47).
