The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the schedule for the playoffs of the Indian Premier League 2026 season, with the grand finale set to take place at Narendra Modi Stadium on May 31.
This announcement follows the completion of 70 league-stage matches, propelling the tournament into its conclusive phase featuring the top four teams.
Qualifier 1, where the first finalist will be determined, is slated for May 26 at the HPCA Stadium, showcasing the top two teams vying for a direct place in the final.
Next, the action will shift to the New International Cricket Stadium, hosting both the Eliminator on May 27 and Qualifier 2 on May 29.
The Eliminator will feature a match between the third and fourth-placed teams, while Qualifier 2 will determine the second finalist from the loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator.

In a significant change, Ahmedabad will now host the final instead of Bengaluru.
Although Bengaluru was initially chosen as the venue for the final match, the BCCI indicated that the change was necessary due to specific requirements from local authorities that did not align with their operational guidelines.
This year’s playoffs will be held across three different venues: Dharamshala, New Chandigarh, and Ahmedabad, creating a multi-city finale week for one of cricket’s premier tournaments.
