Piyush Goyal Engages with Italian Business Executives in Milan Before Co-Chairing Meeting with Italy's Deputy Prime Minister
India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has initiated his official trip to Italy, beginning with meetings with the Italian business community in Milan. Throughout the day, the Minister met with several key figures, including President of UFI Filters Spa Giorgio Girondi, CEO of Toschi Vignola Srl Stefano Toschi, CEO of EPTA Refrigeration Marco Nocivelli, Chairman of the Carraro Group Enrico Carraro, Managing Director of the SOL Group Daniele Forni, CEO of Poggipolini Spa Michele Poggipolini, and CEO of iMoon Lighting Srl Laura Tarquinio.

Tomorrow, the Minister will co-chair the 22nd Session of the India-Italy Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation (JCEC) alongside Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani. This JCEC session in Rome aims to evaluate progress and explore new opportunities for collaboration in critical sectors such as agri-tech, digitalization, energy transition, sustainable mobility, and the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).

This engagement follows the unveiling of the India-Italy Joint Strategic Action Plan (JSAP) 2025–2029, announced after a meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro in November 2024. The JSAP is structured around ten thematic pillars, with a strong emphasis on economic cooperation.
Goyal will also lead a high-level Indian business delegation to the India–Italy Growth Forum in the industrial region of Brescia, which aims to unite key enterprises and stakeholders from both nations to foster investment, establish business-to-business connections, and explore synergies in sectors focused on innovation and sustainability.
