Bengaluru’s premium dining venue, One8 Commune, closed its outlet shortly after Virat Kohli severed ties with the restaurant. The location, managed by Trio Hills Hospitality, was allegedly facing claims of unpaid rent amounting to over ₹2 crore, inclusive of maintenance fees and revenue sharing, following a supposed six-month default.
Nevertheless, One8 Commune has firmly refuted these allegations, asserting that the shutdown was not tied to any financial obligations. In an official statement, the brand clarified that the decision to cease operations was due to specific regulatory and compliance-related stipulations associated with the building.
In an official statement, One8 Commune remarked, “To clarify, the outlet was closed due to specific regulatory and compliance-related requirements concerning the building. These compliance issues were the responsibility of the building owner and were not met. At One8 Commune, the safety of our patrons and team is our highest priority, and we do not compromise on this under any circumstances. Any implication linking this decision to unpaid dues or financial defaults on our part is incorrect and misleading. Given this situation, we have decided to discontinue operations at this location.”
