Meet Andre de Grasse: The Seven-Time Olympic Champion Leading the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2026
The Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM), a prestigious World Athletics Gold Label Race, is set to occur on January 18, 2026, and has appointed Olympic Champion Andre De Grasse as the International Event Ambassador for its 21st edition.

Celebrated for his dynamic finishes, calmness under pressure, and remarkable performances on the sport’s grandest stages, Andre De Grasse is a global athletics sensation who continues to motivate millions around the globe. From modest beginnings, he was first spotted sprinting at a local event in basketball shoes and borrowed spikes, a pivotal moment that launched his remarkable career.

De Grasse is among the elite in global athletics, boasting an impressive record of seven Olympic medals. His rise to fame began at the Rio 2016 Olympics, where he earned a Silver medal in the 200m and Bronze in both the 100m and 4x100m relay. He solidified his legacy at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by clinching Gold in the men’s 200m along with finishing on the podium in the 100m and 4x100m relay. Most recently, during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, De Grasse exhibited leadership and composure while anchoring Canada to Gold in the men’s 4x100m relay.
Beyond the Olympics, De Grasse has consistently excelled at the World Championships, accumulating six medals over five editions, including a Gold at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, further establishing his status as one of the era’s standout sprinters.
