Labuschagne responds to Broad's 'worst Australian team' comment following Ashes victory.
Following two remarkable slip catches at Adelaide Oval that expedited England’s Ashes defeat, Marnus Labuschagne seized the moment to remind Stuart Broad of a pre-series comment regarding the Australian team’s caliber.

Former England fast bowler Broad stated on his podcast last October that Pat Cummins’s squad was “probably the worst Australian team since 2010 when England last won”.

Ben Stokes’ team, in turn, has been labeled the best English team since 2010. England’s last triumph in an Ashes series on Australian soil was in 2010/2011. “So those elements align with the notion that it’s going to be an exciting Ashes series,” Broad remarked.
On Sunday, Australia secured an 82-run victory over England at Adelaide Oval, claiming an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series.

“Being labeled the worst Australian team in 15 years … it’s satisfying to be in our current position, three-nil up,” Labuschagne shared with ABC radio.

The Australian number three struggled with the bat in Adelaide, scoring 19 and 13, but shone brightly in the field during the fourth innings as England pursued 435 for victory.

He executed a spectacular one-handed catch on day four to dismiss Ollie Pope, and repeated the feat on day five to catch Will Jacks for 47 off a Mitchell Starc delivery.

The dismissal of all-rounder Jacks left England at 337 for eight, effectively extinguishing their hopes of a miraculous win.

Labuschagne emphasized the cricket adage that “catches win matches”, while England lamented the cost of missed opportunities in Adelaide.

Harry Brook dropped Usman Khawaja in the slips when he was in single figures in the first innings, and Khawaja went on to score 82.

Brook also missed a challenging chance in the gully off Travis Head when he was on 99 on day three. The reprieved opener finished with 170.
