Iran's Foreign Minister Participates in Arbaeen Pilgrimage in Iraq

Trump claims discussions between the US and Iran are currently taking place, labeling it Tehran’s “final opportunity” to secure a deal, despite Iran’s denial of direct negotiations. Meanwhile, a cargo ship has reported being hit near the Strait of Hormuz. Stay tuned for the latest updates.

US President Donald Trump asserted that talks with Iran are in progress, even as Tehran denies the existence of direct negotiations with Washington.

Trump informed reporters that this represents Iran’s last chance to stave off renewed military action, stating, “They are happening right now… This is their final opportunity to agree on a favorable document.”

His comments followed a day after he announced the cancellation of a planned significant strike on Iran to give diplomacy a chance. However, Iran insists that there are no direct conversations with the US, asserting that discussions are confined to Oman on maritime agreements in the Strait of Hormuz.
Compounding the situation, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency reported that a cargo vessel was struck by an unidentified projectile approximately 20 nautical miles (37 km) northeast of Khasab, Oman.
