West Asia Conflict Affects Air Travel: Frequently Asked Questions Clarified
Indian airlines are expected to run 50 flights to West Asia on March 9, in response to disruptions caused by regional tensions. Air India and Air India Express are responsible for 24 of these scheduled flights to Jeddah and Muscat.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation is actively monitoring the situation in West Asia, which has impacted air travel from India to the region. Carriers are adjusting their operations to ensure both passenger safety and effective flight schedules.

On March 7, 51 inbound flights from West Asia brought a total of 8,175 passengers into India. For March 8, Indian airlines like Air India, Air India Express, Indigo, SpiceJet, and Akasa planned 49 inbound flights from locations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Muscat, and Jeddah, contingent on current conditions.
As of March 8, 279 flights operated by Indian carriers have been cancelled due to the ongoing situation.

The Ministry noted that Indian airlines are consistently evaluating ground conditions at other regional airports to potentially expand their operations. They are also monitoring airfares to avoid exorbitant price increases.

Passengers are encouraged to remain in contact with their airlines for up-to-date information on flight schedules. The Ministry will continue to provide updates as the situation progresses.
