India triumphed over New Zealand by 48 runs at the VDCA Stadium in Nagpur, taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20I series on Wednesday.

Setting the tone with the bat, Abhishek Sharma’s 84 runs led the Men in Blue to a formidable score of 238/7. Rinku Singh also made a valuable contribution in the lower order, smashing four boundaries and three sixes for a quickfire 44 off 20 balls. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav supported well with scores of 32 and 25, respectively.
The bowling unit performed admirably, with Varun Chakravarthy and Shivam Dube capturing four wickets between them, while Arshdeep Singh, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel each secured one wicket.
