India has made a noteworthy advancement in enhancing business relations with China by launching the e-Production Investment Business Visa, commonly referred to as the e-B-4 Visa, tailored specifically for Chinese entrepreneurs.

This visa permits them to visit India for designated business activities, such as the installation and commissioning of equipment, quality assessments, and vital maintenance tasks.

This visa can be applied for online, bypassing the need to visit the embassy or engage agents, according to a recent notice on the Indian Embassy website, as reported by PTI.
The inception of the e-B-4 Visa responds to the rising demand for business visas for travel to India. The e-B-4 Visa has a processing time of 45-50 days, granting the holder the opportunity to remain in India for a duration of up to six months.

As per the advisory, this visa is applicable for installation and commissioning, quality control, essential maintenance, production, IT and ERP ramp-up, training, supply chain enhancement for supplier engagement, plant design and setup, as well as senior management and executive roles.

Chinese nationals can apply online by submitting their applications along with requisite supporting documents on the portal under the ‘For e-Visa by Bureau of Immigration’ tab.

Indian companies wishing to invite Chinese nationals can also submit applications on their behalf by registering on the DPIIT’s NSWS (National Single Window System) portal under the ‘Login-Business User Login’ tab.

This initiative is part of various people-focused measures agreed upon by both nations to enhance their relations.
