In an interview with news agency PTI, he questioned why residents of West Bengal have started to openly voice their opinions post-BJP’s electoral win. “What led to this situation? Why are people celebrating? We failed to reflect,” he told reporters. Dutta claimed that bribes were requested for nearly every civic service in West Bengal and referenced the school jobs scam, arguing that allegations of ‘job theft’ should have been taken seriously by the TMC.
“If anyone claims that jobs were not stolen, it would be a serious offense,” he remarked, noting that attempts to discuss such matters within the party were disregarded.
In a video message following the BJP’s success in the state, Dutta expressed gratitude to the party for what he called their ‘courtesy’ and ‘protection’.
The BJP experienced a sweeping victory in West Bengal, effectively ending the 15-year tenure of the TMC under Mamata Banerjee. The BJP secured 206 out of 294 seats, surpassing the majority threshold of 148.
In response to his suspension, Dutta stated that he had dedicated 13 years to the party, rising through “dedication and achievement”.
“I am not a product of nepotism. Yet my cherished party suspended me for speaking the truth,” he declared in a social media post.
