The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India has scrapped a scheduled audit of Air India after the airline halted several key international flights amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel.

The DGCA has cancelled its upcoming visit to the Air India headquarters this Tuesday, intended for a routine regulatory audit, according to two sources familiar with the situation.
On Monday evening, Air India announced the suspension of all its operations to the Middle East, Europe, and the East Coast of North America indefinitely because of the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. One source indicated that this was a significant factor behind the audit cancellation, as the airline is focused on managing the crisis.
A team of ten officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) was scheduled to conduct an annual audit at the Air India headquarters near New Delhi on Tuesday, especially as the airline is under heightened scrutiny following a plane crash that claimed 271 lives.
Both Air India and the DGCA did not reply to requests for comment from Reuters.
