Cristiano Ronaldo expressed that his enthusiasm for the sport remains strong, affirming his desire to achieve 1,000 career goals after being awarded Best Middle East Player at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Sunday.
His two goals for Al-Nassr on Saturday increased his count to 956, and with his plan to continue playing for “one or two more years,” he believes the target is within grasp.
“It’s challenging to keep playing, but I am driven,” he remarked after winning the award for the second year in a row.
“My enthusiasm is high and I want to keep going. It doesn’t matter whether I’m in the Middle East or Europe. I love playing football and wish to extend my career.
“You know my goal — to win trophies and achieve that target of 1,000 goals, which I am confident I will reach if I stay injury-free.”
