In a message on X, Kharge emphasized the importance of recalling how the country was managed in 2025, the 11th year of BJP governance. He outlined 14 issues, including the repeal of MGNREGA, the depreciating rupee, the SIR exercise, and escalating unemployment, to support his stance.
“(Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) stripped millions of the poor of their ‘right to work.’ With no preparation and inadequate training for booth level officers (BLO), the ‘right to vote’ was taken away from many through SIR (Special Intensive Revision), catching the BJP in a blatant act of vote theft,” Kharge stated.
He accused the government of exacerbating economic inequality, with the wealthiest 1% holding 40% of India’s riches.
“The rupee is on a downward spiral, and despite the RBI selling $32 billion (₹2.8 lakh crore) in US dollars, the situation remains unchanged. Youth unemployment is at an all-time high, and the paper leak mafia continues its operations unimpeded,” he added.
In a jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former US President Donald Trump, he remarked, “Modi’s friend ‘Namaste Trump’ levied the world’s highest tariffs on our nation.” He referenced the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives and, in relation to comments made by Madhya Pradesh minister Kunwar Vijay Shah about Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, stated, “Our formidable Army gave an appropriate response, yet BJP ministers made disgraceful remarks about our Colonel.” He further noted that President Trump has mentioned “mediation” over 60 times, and now China is discussing “mediation,” while PM Modi remains silent.
Kharge criticized PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their “failure” in handling the situation in Manipur, adding, “President’s Rule was imposed merely to conceal it.” He pointed out that there is no respite from inflation and that cutting GST turned out to be “mere number-fudging.”

He remarked that atrocities against Dalits, tribal communities, backward classes, and minorities have surged to a level where even the Chief Justice of India (CJI) was not exempt.
Kharge was alluding to an incident involving lawyer Rakesh Kishore and the then CJI B R Gavai.
He cited Delhi’s air pollution, alleging a “conspiracy” to hand the Aravallis over to the mining mafia, along with the “attacks” on Nicobar, Hasdeo, and Mumbai mangroves.
“Whether it was the Kumbh stampede or the chaos at the Delhi station, innocent lives lost due to cough syrup, yet no one was held accountable,” he concluded.
“Overall, in 2025 too, BJP’s plunder, corruption, and misgovernance remained a significant concern for the nation’s populace,” he summed up.
