Ahmedabad Plane Crash Live Updates: On Friday (June 13), Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Ahmedabad Civil Hospital to connect with those injured in the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171, which resulted in 265 fatalities the day prior. Among those he spoke with was Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, the only survivor of the calamity that happened on Thursday afternoon when the Boeing 787 Dreamliner went down shortly after take-off.
Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi briefed the prime minister on the incident, explaining how the plane impacted the college hostel and kitchen. PM Modi subsequently visited the civil hospital, engaging with Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of the tragedy, and the injured individuals.
He went to the C7 ward of the hospital, where 25 injured patients are being treated, and also conversed with the medical staff. The prime minister spent about 10 minutes at the hospital.
Modi is currently in discussions with state and civil aviation officials at the GujSail office close to the Ahmedabad airport. The London-bound flight, carrying 242 individuals including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, crashed shortly after its take-off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
