Car crash in Sutton’s Bay damages house and business


SUTTON’S BAY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)— A car crash in Sutton’s Bay on Friday caused significant damage to both a house and a business, according to the Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began when an out-of-control vehicle started at the intersection of St. Mary’s Avenue and Jefferson Street, severely damaging a power pole.

The vehicle continued down St. Mary’s Avenue, eventually damaging a house located at the corner of St. Mary’s and Madison Street.

The sheriff’s office reported that a stop sign, shrubs, and a support beam at a barbershop’s entrance on Madison Street were also damaged.

Authorities confirmed that no one was injured in the crash, and alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the incident.
