He emphasized the ruling party’s commitment to respecting the judiciary as an essential component of democracy.
“The BJP does not associate with the statements made by MPs Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma regarding the judiciary and the chief justice. These are their individual views, and the BJP neither agrees with them nor endorses such comments. The BJP firmly rejects them,” Nadda stated in a message on X.
He mentioned that he has instructed both leaders, along with other party members, to abstain from making such remarks.
Nadda pointed out that the BJP has always honored the judiciary and willingly accepted its guidance and directives, believing that all courts, including the Supreme Court, are integral to our democracy.
“They serve as a vital pillar for safeguarding the Constitution,” he added.
Earlier in the day, fourth-term BJP MP Dubey, known for his outspoken nature in the Lok Sabha, criticized the Supreme Court, asserting that if the apex court must enact laws, then Parliament and state assemblies should be disbanded.
He also directed criticism towards CJI Sanjiv Khanna.
Sharma, a former deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, echoed similar sentiments about the Supreme Court, stating that no one should be able to dictate to Parliament or the President.
