Speaking to reporters, Adhikari mentioned that the meeting will also address strategies to combat crimes against women, institutional corruption, and governance challenges, including updates on the RG Kar case.
“Next Monday, I will convene another cabinet meeting to discuss the RG Kar issue, violence against women, institutional corruption, and the pay commission,” he stated.
Adhikari noted that several important issues were not addressed in the first cabinet meeting due to time constraints.
“During the first meeting, only decisions on already prepared files were made. More comprehensive policy discussions will take place at the upcoming meeting,” he added.
State government employees have long sought DA equivalent to central staff.
This matter is currently pending before the Supreme Court. With the new government’s formation, employees are optimistic that the administration will proclaim DA in alignment with central rates.
The government is also expected to consider establishing the Seventh Pay Commission, which could result in a salary revision for state government employees.
The CM hinted that a decision on granting Dearness Allowance (DA) to state government employees and pensioners at central rates might be revealed during Monday’s cabinet meeting.
Adhikari mentioned that senior ministers Dilip Ghosh and Agnimitra Paul will provide updates to the media regarding the next cabinet meeting’s proceedings.
“The CM will keep the media informed regularly. Next Monday, senior leaders Ghosh and Paul will update reporters,” Adhikari remarked.
