The decision, ratified by the BCCI Apex Council, more than doubles payments across various formats and age categories, greatly enhancing the earnings and financial stability for players engaged in domestic competitions.
Under the new framework, senior women cricketers will earn ₹50,000 per day for one-day and multi-day matches when they are included in the playing XI, while substitutes will receive ₹25,000 per day.
In T20 matches, senior players will receive ₹25,000 per match, with substitutes earning ₹12,500. Junior women cricketers in the Under-23 and Under-19 divisions will get ₹25,000 per day in longer formats and ₹12,500 per match in T20s, with reserve players receiving half of these amounts.
Previously, senior women domestic players earned about ₹20,000 per day in longer formats and ₹10,000 per match in T20s, adding up to approximately ₹2 lakh per season. With the updated pay structure, players participating regularly across formats can now earn between ₹12 lakh and ₹14 lakh in a season, based on matches played.
The updated pay scale also applies to match officials, with increased fees for umpires and referees, as the BCCI continues its efforts to professionalize the women’s domestic framework.
