Bangladesh calls in Indian ambassador regarding security issues for its missions.
On Tuesday, December 23, the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh due to concerns regarding the safety of Bangladeshi missions in India.

According to Prothomalo.com, Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam called in the Indian High Commissioner.

Diplomatic sources have confirmed this development. The summons was made in response to the emerging security concerns regarding Bangladeshi missions in various locations across India, including New Delhi and Kolkata, as reported.
Sources noted that Verma has been asked to enhance security measures for Bangladeshi missions situated throughout India.

This is the second occasion within the last 10 days that Verma has been called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Indian envoy has been summoned at least six times due to various incidents during the term of the interim government.

Prior to today, Verma was called to the Foreign Ministry on December 14.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following that meeting indicated that India’s cooperation was requested to prevent the escape of attackers who assaulted Inquilab Moncho convener Sharif Osman Hadi into India, the report mentioned.
