Today, Vaishnaw toured the ASML Headquarters in Veldhoven, Netherlands, according to an official announcement.
“Our fab in Dholera will be using ASML equipment. I have visited to better understand their technology,” Vaishnaw remarked.
The Tata Group is setting up a chip manufacturing unit in Dholera, involving an investment of approximately Rs 91,000 crore. The center has pledged 50% fiscal support on a pari-passu basis, while the state government will contribute 20%.
The minister highlighted that ASML is the leading global provider of lithographic tools, essential for nearly every chip produced worldwide.

“India has initiated a new semiconductor industry, and within this sector, lithography—which essentially involves printing circuits on the wafer—is the most intricate and precise work that must be carried out,” Vaishnaw added.
Last year, ASML announced the expansion of its operations in India.
Vaishnaw emphasized that ASML’s entry into India marks a significant milestone, as many global equipment manufacturers are seeking to establish a presence in India due to its design capabilities, vast talent pool, and the consistent policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
