ATMORE, Ala. (WALA) – Four people have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Atmore last week, and future arrests are forthcoming, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Police said the May 7 incident at North Main and Howard Street involved a vehicle occupied by a young man and a nearby business being struck by multiple discharged weapons from a group of people roadside. Officers recovered 47 spent shell casing from two different caliber firearms.
Police apprehended two suspects on Wednesday with active warrants from the incident. One of them is a juvenile and was also arrested from charges stemming from another shooting earlier this month, according to the APD.

The juvenile is charged with attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle and shooting into an unoccupied building, all stemming from the May 7 incident, police said. As well, they said, the juvenile is charged with six additional counts of attempted murder and an additional count of shooting into an occupied dwelling stemming from an earlier case.
Ryeheem Edward Banks, 21, of Atmore, was also arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle and shooting into an unoccupied building.
Two other suspects were previously arrested in connection with the May 7 incident.
Dexter Adams, 18, of Atmore, is charged with attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle and shooting into an unoccupied building, police said.
On May 9 the police department stated there was an additional arrest in the matter, but the department did not name that 17-year-old suspect. He is also charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle and discharging a firearm into an unoccupied building.
That same juvenile was also involved with a prior shooting incident that occurred April 26 on East School Street, police said.
