Anthropic's AI chatbot Claude experiences service disruption as user complaints surge on Downdetector.
Anthropic PBC, under the leadership of Dario Amodei, has revealed that the US government has enacted an export control measure to restrict external access to its AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5.

In a statement shared on X, the AI firm remarked, “The US government, referring to national security measures, has enacted an export control directive to halt all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, both inside and outside the United States, including foreign national employees of Anthropic.”

The company stated that the overall impact of this directive necessitates the immediate suspension of Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all users to maintain compliance.
In its announcement, the firm added, “We apologize for this inconvenience to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are striving to restore access as quickly as possible.”
