ABB India’s Q2 Earnings Fall Short of Forecast; Announces ₹90 Special Dividend Amid 50% Rise in Order Intake
ABB India Ltd, a leader in electrification and automation, announced on Friday (July 31) a standalone net profit of ₹362.3 crore for the second quarter of the calendar year 2026, marking a 3% increase compared to ₹352 crore in the same quarter last year.

The company saw its revenue rise by 21% year-on-year to ₹3,558.9 crore, up from ₹2,941 crore for the same period last year.

In terms of operating performance, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) climbed 11.4% to ₹447.1 crore from ₹401.2 crore the previous year. The EBITDA margin was recorded at 13% for the quarter, down from 14% in the year-ago period.

ABB India’s quarterly results fell short of CNBC-TV18’s projected profitability metrics. Net profit was anticipated at ₹388.5 crore, with EBITDA at ₹461.7 crore and an EBITDA margin of 14%. Nevertheless, revenue exceeded the poll estimate of ₹3,322.4 crore.

The company also reported record orders for the second quarter of calendar year 2026, with order intake soaring 50% year-on-year compared to the April-June quarter of CY2025. Additionally, there was a 22% rise in order backlog year-on-year at the close of the period.

On the sustainability front, ABB India highlighted that circularity remained a significant focus in the first half of CY2026, with 99.7% of waste being diverted from landfills.

The board of directors at ABB India has declared a special dividend of ₹90 per share for the financial year 2026. This dividend represents 4,500% on the company’s equity shares with a face value of ₹2 each, reflecting proceeds from the Robotics divestment alongside operational profits for the first half of calendar year 2026.

The special dividend will be distributed on a total of 21,19,08,375 fully paid-up equity shares. Shares of ABB India Ltd closed at ₹7,285.95, down ₹6.00, or 0.082%, on the BSE.
