Report: AI Content Achieves 15 Million Pageviews in India Within 90 Days
Content related to artificial intelligence has garnered over 15 million pageviews in India in the last 90 days, as per insights from Taboola Newsroom. This marks a remarkable 92% increase compared to the prior 45 days.

Emerging AI companies are capturing considerable interest. Materials concerning Anthropic registered 2.5 million pageviews, representing a staggering 2,096% increase, according to the data.

Generative AI platforms like ChatGPT continue to captivate readers. Related topics attracted approximately 1.2 million pageviews as audiences explored practical applications, features, and use cases.
Overall tech-related content also experienced growth, as revealed by Taboola Newsroom’s data intelligence platform. It accumulated 1.7 million pageviews during the same timeframe, reflecting a 27% increase. Much of this growth is attributed to advancements within the AI ecosystem itself.

Major tech companies are driving online conversations as well. Content related to Meta accumulated 2.2 million pageviews, a 30% increase. This uptick is due to audiences following developments in AI infrastructure and the company’s involvement in the generative AI landscape.

Despite the increasing interest,

AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity represent a minor source of web traffic for publishers, as revealed by analytics platform Chartbeat last year.

These tools account for less than 1 percent of overall pageviews, even though ChatGPT experienced a 200% year-over-year growth.

Users frequently obtain the information they seek without clicking through to linked articles. While certain subjects, such as home and lifestyle content, attract more AI referrals, news and media outlets receive substantial AI traffic but exhibit low engagement per article.

Overall, publishers saw their pageviews decline by only about 6% in 2025 compared to 2024.

For news and media sites, internal traffic increased from 38% in 2024 to 41% by late 2025.

The impact of AI on younger audiences is also raising alarms. A Harvard Law School specialist found that AI is hastening the production of content targeted at children on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.

Leah Plunkett, Meyer Research Lecturer on Law, cautions that ‘brain rot’ content (short, repetitive, and overstimulating videos) has long been favored by social media algorithms. AI tools now enable creators to generate such content even more rapidly, heightening the risks for children under 18.
