Iran Israel War Live Update: Donald Trump declares victory in three-week conflict, announces Tehran’s renunciation of nuclear weapons as JD Vance, Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner facilitate negotiations.
Addressing reporters in the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump asserted that Iran was eager to “make a deal” and mentioned that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Middle East Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner were spearheading the discussions.
The President noted that there had already been substantial changes in the Iranian leadership.
“What we essentially have is regime change. This is a shift in the regime, as the leaders now are quite different from those who initially caused the issues,” he remarked.
Earlier, Trump supported a social media message from Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who proposed to facilitate talks between Iran and the US and offered to host negotiations for a comprehensive resolution of the ongoing conflict.
“I don’t want to disclose specifics, but they have confirmed they will never pursue a nuclear weapon,” Trump informed reporters following the swearing-in of Markwayne Mullin as the new secretary for the Department of Homeland Security.
