Before the Prime Minister’s arrival, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who oversees the Tamil Nadu elections, conducted several meetings with NDA allies to showcase solidarity within the coalition. The BJP has successfully included AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran and the PMK Anbumani faction in the NDA.
Other partners, such as GK Vasan-led TMC (Tamil Nadu Congress — Moopanar), TR Paarivendhar-led Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi, AC Shanmugam of the New Justice Party, and B John Pandian from the Tamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, have reaffirmed their allegiance to the NDA. However, former ally O Panneerselvam is expected to miss the rally, having not received an invitation following his recent departure from the NDA.
A senior BJP leader indicated that discussions are ongoing to reintegrate the DMDK, led by Premalatha Vijayakanth, back into the NDA, but confirmed that Panneerselvam has not been extended an invitation. The leaders of NDA allies, including the key constituent AIADMK, are slated to share the stage with Modi, according to the leader.
As per the agenda, Modi will address the attendees at 3 pm, with plans to depart Maduranthakam by 4:30 pm.
Union Minister L Murugan, following a review of the arrangements for the tightly packed three-hour visit under stringent security, remarked, “The prime minister will address the NDA public meeting at Madhuranthakam, Chengalpattu, marking the commencement of the NDA’s election campaign in Tamil Nadu,” as quoted by PTI.
