The whistle symbol was the ‘preferred’ choice from a selection of 10 symbols suggested by Vijay, Kumar, the joint general secretary of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, stated.
”The overarching hope and wish of the people of Tamil Nadu is for our leader to become the Chief Minister. This symbol marks the initial step toward that goal,” he told reporters.
”The symbol has been distributed across Tamil Nadu, with TVK workers eagerly promoting it throughout the state,” he added.
Two years post-launch, the 2026 Assembly elections will represent the first electoral contest for the 50-year-old Vijay-led TVK, Kumar remarked, expressing confidence in the party’s potential for a significant victory and Vijay’s ascent to CM.
Notably, one of actor Vijay’s biggest hits is ”whistle podu,” (play the whistle) from his 2024 film GOAT, which contained references to his then-anticipated political strategy. He also starred in a film titled ’Bigil,’ which translates to whistle.
Meanwhile, senior Congress figure Praveen Chakravarty, whose earlier meeting with Vijay sparked political speculation, mentioned that the 2026 ”election whistle” has been sounded in the state.
”The TN 2026 election ’whistle’ has been blown! All parties are now Ready Set Go :),” Chakravarty, Chairman – Professionals’ Congress & Data Analytics, stated.
