Intense Turmoil in Kolkata | ED Conducts Raids on I-PAC Office, Mamata Criticizes 'Mischievous' Amit Shah
Intense drama erupted in Kolkata on Thursday, January 8, as the Enforcement Directorate raided the office of the political consultancy firm I-PAC.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the ED’s actions, targeting Home Minister Amit Shah and labeling him a “nasty and naughty” home minister.

“Is it the responsibility of the ED, Amit Shah, to seize the party’s hard disk and candidate list?” Mamata asked.
“The nasty, naughty Home Minister who fails to safeguard the country is confiscating all my party’s documents. What would happen if I raided the BJP party office? Meanwhile, they are purging the names of voters by conducting the SIR in West Bengal… Due to the elections, they are gathering all the information about my party…” she continued.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is carrying out searches at 15 locations nationwide in connection with a fake government job scam involving a group that deceived individuals by offering phony jobs, according to officials and news agency ANI.

The raids are being executed at three sites in Bihar, two in West Bengal, four in Kerala, one in Tamil Nadu, one in Gujarat, and four in Uttar Pradesh.

Locations being searched include Muzaffarpur and Motihari in Bihar; Kolkata in West Bengal; Ernakulam, Pandalam, Adoor, and Kodur in Kerala; Chennai in Tamil Nadu; Rajkot in Gujarat; and Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, as reported by ANI.

The ED raided the Indian Political Action Committee’s office in Kolkata early on January 8, prompting the West Bengal CM to visit the site and criticize the government’s actions ahead of the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026.
