Utkarsh SFB Q3 Update: Gross Loans Decrease by 4% to ₹18,306 Crore; Deposits Rise by 5%

Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Ltd released its business updates for the quarter and nine months ending December 31, 2025, on Monday (January 5).

As of December 31, 2025, the bank’s gross loan portfolio was ₹18,306 crore, down from ₹19,057 crore the previous year, indicating a year-on-year decrease of 3.9%. Compared to the previous quarter, the gross loan portfolio fell by 1.9% from ₹18,655 crore on September 30, 2025. These figures include inter-bank participation certificates issued by the bank.

The joint liability group (JLG) loans experienced a year-on-year decline of 34.1%, totaling ₹6,419 crore as of December 31, 2025, and decreased by 15.7% sequentially. Conversely, the non-JLG loan portfolio grew by 27.5% year-on-year to ₹11,888 crore, rising 7.7% on a quarterly basis.

Total deposits rose by 4.5% year-on-year to ₹21,087 crore as of December 31, 2025, but experienced a sequential decline of 1.7% from ₹21,447 crore. CASA deposits increased 16.1% year-on-year to ₹4,611 crore, with a quarter-on-quarter increase of 2.9%. The CASA ratio improved to 21.9% on December 31, 2025, compared to 19.7% a year prior and 20.9% in the previous quarter.

Retail term deposits surged by 23.8% year-on-year to ₹12,586 crore and grew 2.7% sequentially. Bulk term deposits, on the other hand, dropped by 35.6% year-on-year to ₹3,890 crore and decreased by 17.4% quarter-on-quarter. The ratio of CASA to retail term deposits stood at 81.6% on December 31, 2025, compared to 70.1% a year ago and 78.1% in the previous quarter.

For the quarter, the X bucket collection efficiency for the bank’s micro banking loan portfolio, excluding pre-payments, was 99.1%. The liquidity coverage ratio was at 200% as of December 31, 2025.

On January 5, shares of Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Ltd closed at ₹15.11, falling by ₹0.22, or 1.44%, on the BSE.
