Government transitions 1.268 million official email accounts to Zoho, according to MeitY.
The government has successfully transitioned approximately 12.68 lakh official email accounts from various ministries and departments to Zoho, as reported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to the Lok Sabha.

Out of these, 7.45 lakh accounts are associated with Central government employees. This accounts for only a small portion of the overall Central government workforce, which totals 50.14 lakh employees.

The migration process was facilitated by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which remains the designated provider of official email services for all government ministries and departments.
As per MeitY, the contract established with Zoho guarantees that all data and intellectual property produced during the partnership will remain the property of the government. The agreement also includes measures for continuity and rollback when necessary.

In September, Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced his transition to Zoho, the indigenous platform for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
