The foreign ministry stated, “Today, we observe utter lawlessness in the Caribbean Sea, where the bygone acts of stealing other peoples’ property—namely piracy and banditry—are being resurrected,” according to spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
She emphasized, “We are advocates for de-escalation. We trust that the rationality and pragmatic approach of President Trump will enable mutually agreeable solutions to be reached in accordance with international legal standards.”
Zakharova reaffirmed support for Nicolas Maduro’s government in its efforts to safeguard sovereignty and national interests while ensuring stable and secure development in Venezuela.
