According to PTI, Gupta mentioned that the Prime Minister shared his vision for Delhi’s development, which she believes will provide new momentum and clarity to the city’s growth agenda. She also emphasized her government’s efforts, stating that maintaining cleanliness is a primary focus and enhancing Delhi’s green cover is a key goal.
As part of this green initiative, she announced the planting of 7 million (70 lakh) saplings this year under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign, which has already been initiated. Additionally, she noted that waste management is being improved through modern technological solutions, with an increased emphasis on recycling and waste-to-resource initiatives.
During the meeting, Gupta presented the Prime Minister with a National War Memorial souvenir and expressed her desire to bring school children to the memorial to instill patriotism and national pride. She added that the general public will also be encouraged to visit important landmarks such as the Dr Ambedkar National Memorial and the Prime Ministers’ Museum.
To enhance awareness, she stated that dedicated campaigns will be launched — both in the field and via social media — to underscore the cultural and historical significance of these sites. “These locations of historical importance should be developed into new tourist hubs,” the statement attributed to Gupta read. “They offer not only a chance to learn about our country’s history and culture but also promote a sense of national pride and patriotism.”
Gupta also expressed the gratitude of Delhi’s citizens to the Prime Minister, highlighting the Centre’s ongoing support in providing special assistance to the city. She remarked that this support has been instrumental in reviving stalled infrastructure projects and facilitating the smooth implementation of new schemes aimed at the capital’s sustainable development.
