Through this collaboration, Praj will provide support for the design, assessment, and staged implementation of a comprehensive biorefinery. This facility will generate ethanol along with various co-products, including distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS), corn oil, biogas, biobitumen, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The agreement was formalized during Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios’s state visit to India from June 2-4, 2025. The signing was attended by President Palacios, along with a high-level delegation of ministers, officials, and business leaders.

This announcement follows the contract awarded to Praj by Enersur for the design, supply, and commissioning of an advanced 600 m³/day anhydrous ethanol facility in Canindeyú, Paraguay. This plant, which will utilize corn as feedstock, marks a significant advancement in Paraguay’s dedication to clean energy and rural prosperity, while also helping to decrease dependence on fossil fuels.
Praj’s comprehensive work scope encompasses process technology licensing, complete design and engineering, supply of essential process machinery, and on-site supervisory support. The plant is projected to be operational by October 2026.
Shares of Praj Industries Ltd closed at ₹489.75, a decrease of ₹4.55, or 0.92%, on the BSE.
