During discussions held at Hyderabad House, Modi called for strengthened partnerships on matters like cybercrime, organized crime, and drug trafficking.
“India and Paraguay are united in the fight against terrorism. There exists substantial potential for collaboration in addressing common challenges such as cybercrime, organized crime, and drug trafficking,” the Prime Minister stated.
He further mentioned that both nations could benefit from each other’s experiences due to shared aspirations and concerns. “India and Paraguay are integral to the Global South. Our hopes, aspirations, and challenges are alike; thus, we can effectively tackle these issues by learning from one another,” he remarked, as reported by ANI.

President Palacios is on a three-day state visit to India, concluding on June 4. He arrived on June 2 and was welcomed by Minister of State Harsh Vardhan Malhotra. A formal reception was held with a Guard of Honour at Palam Air Force Station. After important meetings in the capital, Palacios plans to visit Mumbai.
Paraguayan President’s visit seeks to enhance ties
Modi characterized Palacios’ visit to India as “historic,” noting that the President’s stop in Mumbai illustrates a strong commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
“Your visit to India is historic. This marks the second visit of a President of Paraguay to India. Your journey includes not just Delhi but also Mumbai, clearly demonstrating your dedication to mutual relations,” he commented.
“I believe that through collaborative efforts, we will create pathways for shared prosperity. There are new opportunities for partnership in areas such as digital technology, critical minerals, energy, agriculture, health, defense, railways, and space,” he added.
Modi expressed gratitude for the support provided to Paraguay during the Covid-19 pandemic through vaccine supplies.
The two nations have a chance to enhance India-Latin America relations by fostering greater trust, boosting trade, and collaborating more closely across diverse sectors. “I am confident that your visit will fortify the foundations of mutual trust, trade, and cooperation. It will also introduce new aspects to India-Latin America relations,” he noted.
“Last year, I engaged in the CARICOM Summit in Guyana, where we deliberated on enhancing cooperation on various topics. We can collaborate with Paraguay and all Latin American nations in these areas,” he concluded.
