Gujarat | A by-election has been announced for the Kadi seat following the passing of sitting MLA Karsanbhai Punjabhai Solanki. The Visavadar seat is being contested due to the resignation of current member Bhayani Bhupendrabhai Gandubhai.
The Aam Aadmi Party has declared Jagdish Chavda as its candidate for the Kadi assembly constituency, with Gopal Italia contesting from the Visavadar seat, according to the Indian Express.
Kerala | The Nilambur seat in Kerala will see a by-election triggered by MLA P V Anvar’s resignation. M. Swaraj has been nominated by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) as the Left Democratic Front’s (LDF) candidate, while the Congress-led UDF has yet to announce their candidate officially.
Punjab | The passing of sitting MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi has led to the need for a by-election for Punjab’s Ludhiana West seat.
As reported by India Today, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has nominated Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora, the Congress has put forward former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has selected Parupkar Singh Ghuman as its candidate.
West Bengal | In West Bengal, a by-election for the Kaliganj Assembly seat is being held due to the death of sitting member Nasiruddin Ahamed. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has nominated Alifa Ahmed as their candidate for this by-election.
