NCS: Keselowski, Bell win All-Star heats in dominating fashion – Speedway Digest

Brad Keselowski and Christopher Bell both won their heat races on Saturday evening at North Wilkesboro in dominating fashion.

Keselowski, who won the pole for Sunday’s All-Star Race on Friday will start from the front row and Christopher Bell will start second after winning his heat race.

Keselowski led 74 of 75 laps in his heat race. Rounding out the five were Ross Chastain in second, William Byron in third, Ryan Blaney in fourth and Alex Bowman in fifth.

Keselowski has finished runner-up in the All-Star Race three times. That is tied for the most runner-up finishes.

Christopher Bell, who won his heat race led 69 of 75 laps to win the second heat race.

The only laps that Bell was not out front is when Chase Briscoe stayed out when the rest of the field pitted, trying to get on the same strategy as Keselowski was on.

When the race restarted Briscoe would not get the restart that he wanted and would fall back outside of the top five before contact would send him spinning on the frontstretch.

In the second heat race Joey Logano finished second, Chase Elliott in third, Kyle Busch in fourth and Chris Buescher in fifth.

Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Race from North Wilkesboro is set to begin at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

The Open last chance race will take place at 5:00 p.m. Eastern. The top two finishers will advance to the All-Star Race as well as the fan vote winner.
