It’s Moving Day in North Carolina, and all eyes are on Jhonattan Vegas.
Yes, seriously.
Vegas jumped up to a two-shot lead over the field at the midway point of the PGA Championship in a rare showing for the 40-year-old veteran, who has never led a major championship until this week. He even pulled off a ridiculous shot off a rake on Friday, too, to keep himself in it.

While largely unknown, there is a big group of golfers close behind him. Si Woo Kim, who hit the longest ace in recorded major championship history, Matthieu Pavon and Matt Fitzpatrick are at 6-under. Scottie Scheffler, the top-ranked golfer in the world, is within striking distance, too. He’s at 5-under with Max Homa. Rory McIlroy, fresh off his Masters win, and Xander Schauffele barely made it into the weekend. They survived the cut on the number at 1-over, and have a lot of work to do to get back in it.
As of now, this is still very much anybody’s PGA Championship to win.
A weather delay has pushed the start of Round 3 to 11:43 a.m. ET. Groupings will now be in threesomes, instead of twosomes, and play will begin with split tees — front nine and back nine. The top half of the field will tee off on the front nine, while the back half will tee off on the back nine. This is all being done in an effort to get as much play in today.
Full tee times can be found here.
