Gainesville police meet with business leaders to discuss crime and public safety


GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – More than two weeks after a shooting at the Butler Plaza Walmart, Gainesville police say they are working with business leaders in the area.

Police officials say they met with representatives from Butler Plaza businesses Friday to discuss collaborating better on crime and public safety.

Police say Drevon Parker, 26, shot Walmart employee Antwain Johnson on April 30th.

The business was evacuated while law enforcement searched for the shooter.

Johnson’s wife says he needs help walking again.
