LALBC NEWS RELEASE
The Los Alamos Local Business Coalition (LALBC) invites all community members, business owners, and local leaders to attend Forum #4: Tools and Strategies Workshop on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at SALA Event Center, with a live Zoom option for remote attendees.
This interactive forum will shift the conversation from identifying problems to building practical solutions. Attendees will participate in group workshops to develop and refine bold, actionable strategies aimed at improving the local business environment. The workshop format will use the “IMAGINE” framework, which helps participants visualize a concept and explore its potential impact, partners, resource needs, and challenges.
“We want to go beyond talk,” said a member of the Coalition Steering Committee. “This forum is about rolling up our sleeves and co-creating real tools and programs that address the needs of small businesses in Los Alamos and White Rock.”
SAMPLE RECOMMENDATIONS TO BE WORKSHOPPED INCLUDE:
- Facilitating Owner-Occupied Commercial Spaces – making it easier for businesses to own their storefronts.
- Empowering Los Alamos: Grant Support – creating shared grant-writing resources to unlock outside funding.
- Storefront Recapture Initiative – converting underutilized office spaces into vibrant retail and dining locations.
Participants are also invited to bring their own ideas, which will be developed collaboratively during breakout sessions. Representatives from LACDC, MainStreet, SBDC, Los Alamos County, and local nonprofits will be in attendance to offer insight, support, and partnership opportunities.
Pizza and soda will be provided for in-person participants. The Coalition encourages anyone interested in building a stronger, more vibrant local economy to attend—whether you’re a business owner, a concerned resident, or a stakeholder in the community’s future.
