Now You Can Earn IndiGo BluChips Rewards for Credit Card Bill Payments: Here's How It Works
Credit card holders can now earn IndiGo BluChips on qualifying credit card and utility bill payments made via the SaveSage app, thanks to a new alliance between the rewards optimization platform and IndiGo’s BluChip loyalty program.

With this offer, users will receive 1 IndiGo BluChip for every ₹1,000 spent on eligible bill payments, with a maximum reward limit of 1,000 BluChips each month.

The earned BluChips can be redeemed for eligible IndiGo flights and various other benefits under the airline’s loyalty scheme.

This feature became available for SaveSage users starting August 10.

This offer introduces an airline loyalty reward to a category of recurring payments that typically lacks the benefits associated with regular credit card use. However, the extra BluChips earned are tied specifically to eligible bill payments made through SaveSage and should not be mistaken for the rewards that customers may receive separately from their credit cards.

How the offer works

For every ₹1,000 spent on eligible credit card or utility bill payments via the SaveSage app, users will earn one BluChip. For instance, a qualifying payment of ₹10,000 would earn 10 BluChips, adhering to the program’s terms and the monthly limit.

A user making ₹10 lakh in eligible payments in a month would not receive 10,000 BluChips, as the monthly reward is limited to 1,000 BluChips.

The ultimate value of the benefit will depend on how users choose to redeem their BluChips. Customers should also verify the eligibility criteria and any potential fees associated with payments made through the platform before using the service solely to accumulate rewards.

What this means for credit card users

This partnership provides cardholders with an additional way to earn airline loyalty points through regular financial transactions. It also offers IndiGo a new method to engage BluChip members outside of flight bookings and travel-related purchases.

For consumers, the main factor to consider is the actual value of the reward. Earning one BluChip for every ₹1,000 of eligible payments may be beneficial for those who frequently fly with IndiGo and can redeem points efficiently, but this advantage should be balanced against any relevant payment fees and the overall value of the BluChips.
