Lenovo Legion Y700 AI: Sleeker Build, Lighter Design, and Additional Insights Unveiled

Lenovo has offered another preview of the upcoming Legion Y700 AI ahead of its release in China later this month, this time focusing on its design. The latest teaser suggests a slimmer and lighter profile compared to previous models in the series, along with significantly thinner display bezels. Earlier teasers had already confirmed features such as an OLED display, a top-tier Snapdragon chipset, high-performance memory, and 5G connectivity.

The Legion Y700 AI is expected to showcase a notably slim and lightweight design, as per Lenovo’s announcements on Weibo. The company reports that the tablet will have a thickness of approximately 6.5mm and a weight close to 298g. Lenovo also shared that all four display bezels will be uniform, each measuring around 2.89mm.

It is set to feature an 8.4-inch OLED panel, according to Lenovo. The display boasts a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, a refresh rate of 165Hz, and a peak local brightness rated at 4,000 nits. Lenovo has indicated that the panel features a Real RGB layout while supporting 12-bit color, Dolby Vision, and the DCI-P3 color space, with factory calibration for enhanced color accuracy.

Among the key features of the Legion Y700 AI’s display is eye protection. Lenovo has integrated 3,840Hz PWM dimming, DC dimming, and a hardware-level 1-nit brightness mode, along with TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free operation. The gaming-centric screen also provides up to 3,400Hz instantaneous touch sampling, native 360Hz multi-finger touch sampling, AI-enhanced targeting, and customizable touch controls.

The Legion Y700 AI has been confirmed to utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version platform, achieving peak clock speeds of 4.74GHz. Lenovo states that the tablet will also feature LPDDR5T RAM with speeds of up to 10667MT/s, UFS 4.1 Pro storage, and a 15,000sq mm vapor chamber supported by its Qiankun cooling solution. Tianxi AI capabilities and 5G networking will also be included.

Recent leaks suggest that Lenovo might release the Legion Y700 AI in four variants: 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, 24GB + 512GB, and 24GB + 1TB configurations. The gaming tablet is anticipated to have a centered punch-hole front-facing camera, a 50-megapixel rear camera, RGB lighting on the back, a SIM card slot, and support for the N79 5G network band. The launch in China is expected later this month, with the entry-level model projected to be priced at around CNY 5,000 (approximately ₹ 59,000).
