As per the IMD, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is anticipated in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir from July 18 to July 22, while Uttarakhand is expected to experience similar rainfall from July 17 to July 22.
The weather agency has also predicted isolated very heavy rainfall over Himachal Pradesh from July 19 to 22, Uttarakhand from July 18 to 21, and Jammu & Kashmir on July 21.

Additionally, the IMD has indicated that a new Western Disturbance is likely to impact northwest India starting from July 19.
What the IMD Says
The IMD warns that the expected heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding of roads, waterlogging in low-lying areas, occasional visibility reduction, traffic disruptions, minor damage to unpaved roads, harm to vulnerable structures, as well as localized landslides, mudslides, landslips, and similar hazards. It advises travelers to monitor traffic conditions before departing, adhere to traffic advisories, steer clear of areas prone to waterlogging, and avoid staying in vulnerable structures.
The IMD has also issued a low to moderate risk of flash floods in certain watersheds and adjacent regions of Uttarakhand over the next 24 hours. The affected districts include Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Nainital, Pauri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, and Uttarkashi. The IMD warns that surface runoff or flooding may occur in saturated soils and low-lying areas due to the forecasted rainfall.
