Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay is celebrating his 52nd birthday today, June 22. Social media has been inundated with well-wishes from political figures, film stars, and fans, marking his first birthday since assuming office following the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s (TVK) success in the 2026 Assembly elections.

The actor-turned-politician, who was sworn in as Chief Minister on May 10, received messages from leaders across the political spectrum.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his birthday wishes to Vijay on X.
“Birthday greetings to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C Joseph Vijay Ji. I pray for his long and healthy life,” he stated.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi offered his wishes for “good health and success” to Vijay.

In a message, he expressed, “Wishing the Chief Minister of

Tamil Nadu, Thiru Joseph Vijay, a very happy birthday. I hope for your good health and success in all your endeavors. I stand with you in upholding the rights, dignity, and aspirations of the Tamil people, and in collaborating for the progress of the state.”

Vijay’s predecessor, MK Stalin, in his birthday note, commented, “I wish you the strength to continue serving the public with joy and good health.”

Film industry joins the celebration

The celebrations were equally lively in the film industry. Veteran actor and politician Kamal Haasan shared a message stating, “Heartfelt birthday wishes to the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, President of the Vijay Tamilaga Victory Committee, and beloved younger brother Vijay, who has won the love of millions.”

The message also evoked memories of their long-standing association. Kamal Haasan and Vijay had previously appeared together in the 1995 film Nammavar, where a young Vijay played a supporting role.

Nayanthara also took to social media to wish her ‘dearest Thalapathy’ Vijay sir. The two stars have shared the screen in numerous successful films over the years, including Sivakasi, Villu, and Bigil.

Vijay was last seen on the big screen in The Greatest of All Time (2024). He is set to appear next in Jana Nayagan, which is anticipated to be his final film. The makers have yet to announce its release date.
