Akhilesh Yadav announces that the Samajwadi Party has terminated its contract with I-PAC due to financial limitations.
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav announced on Wednesday (May 6) that his party has ended its partnership with the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) due to financial constraints.

He dismissed rumors suggesting that the termination was linked to the recent election results.

During a press conference, Yadav explained that the party had hired I-PAC for a short period in preparation for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, but was unable to maintain the partnership.
“Indeed, we had a collaboration. They assisted us for a few months, but we cannot proceed due to insufficient funding,” he stated.

The I-PAC is a political consultancy firm recognized for overseeing significant election campaigns across the nation.

Election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor has had ties with the organization previously and has collaborated with various parties, including the BJP and Congress.

In a lighthearted moment, Yadav poked fun at the world of political consultancies. “We believed that if we were to collaborate with a ‘winning agency’, there are numerous large firms,” he remarked.

He mentioned that some individuals proposed conducting surveys, hiring another firm, managing a social media agency, and even utilizing firms for negative campaigning against rivals.

“There are a couple more companies whose names haven’t been revealed yet. I can identify them for you as well,” Yadav added.

Yadav refuted claims that the decision to terminate the contract was influenced by recent election results in states like West Bengal.

“There is no such issue. Please refrain from asking questions based on unfounded reports. That is simply not true,” he clarified.

“This is not the reason for ending the agreement. We just do not have adequate funding. If you (the media) provide us with funds, we could engage another company,” the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister concluded.
