Cleartrip collaborates with IRCTC to enhance its train booking services.
Cleartrip, part of the Flipkart Group, has unveiled a new train ticket booking service in collaboration with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), which serves as the official ticketing body of Indian Railways.

This integration allows users to search, book, and manage their train journeys directly through the Cleartrip mobile app.

With this new service, Cleartrip broadens its portfolio to encompass flights, hotels, buses, trains, and vacation packages, establishing itself as a comprehensive travel platform. The company indicated that this service will cater to train bookings across India, including both General and Tatkal quotas, in line with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Railways.
The platform includes features such as real-time seat availability, fare details, PNR status tracking, berth preferences, and digital payment options, all accessible through a single interface.

Cleartrip emphasized that this integration aims to simplify the train travel booking experience using IRCTC’s robust infrastructure. “Train travel is an essential component of India’s mobility ecosystem, and this launch is a significant step towards our goal of becoming a unified, multi-modal travel platform,” stated Manjari Singhal, Chief Growth and Business Officer at Cleartrip.

Gaurav Patwari, Chief Business Officer (Air) at Cleartrip, mentioned that this segment holds a substantial passenger demographic and noted the importance of enhancing booking and post-booking services via the platform.

Indian Railways maintains one of the largest passenger networks globally, accommodating millions of travelers each day. Cleartrip has plans to roll out the train booking feature on its web platform in the subsequent phase.
