Siguler Guff commits $40 million to Trimex Foods, the franchise operator of Chili's.
Siguler Guff, a private equity firm managing over $18 billion in assets, has invested $40 million in India-based Trimex Foods Private Limited to aid its growth in the country’s organized food services sector.

This investment represents the first influx of institutional capital for Trimex Foods Private Limited, which serves as the exclusive Indian franchise partner for notable international restaurant and bakery brands such as Chili’s Grill & Bar, PAUL, and Cinnabon.

Established in 2010, Trimex Foods operates more than 50 restaurants and bakery cafés across 13 cities in India, employing around 1,900 individuals. The company specializes in managing multi-brand casual dining and bakery franchises through global partnerships. It has successfully gained a foothold in India’s organized dining market through its extensive brand portfolio and growing store network.
This investment comes as Siguler Guff remains committed to exploring consumer and retail opportunities in emerging markets. The firm noted that this deal aligns with its perspective on India’s food services sector as an expanding, consumption-driven market, underscored by increasing demand for structured dining formats.

Siguler Guff Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager Shaun Khubchandani remarked that India’s food services landscape is witnessing a transition toward globally recognized dining formats, characterizing Trimex as a scalable multi-brand platform with established operations in key cities.

Trimex Foods stated that this partnership will facilitate its next growth phase, including the expansion of its current portfolio and the addition of more global brands in India. The company emphasized its commitment to maintaining operational consistency while enhancing its restaurant platform.

Ernst & Young served as the exclusive financial advisor to Trimex Foods for this transaction.
