The surge in hyper-local commerce was fueled by rapid expansions in grocery, electronics, and fashion sectors, bolstered by a vast network encompassing over 3,100 stores across more than 1,200 cities and 5,100 pin codes. This growth has established the widest hyper-local delivery network in India.
Isha M Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, remarked, “This year witnessed a major structural shift. Hyper-local commerce orders soared more than fourfold compared to the previous year. We operate the most extensive hyper-local delivery network in India across grocery, electronics, and fashion—supported by over 3,100 stores in more than 1,200 cities and 5,100 pin codes. This platform is uniquely Indian, built upon Reliance’s significant scale advantages.”

Its e-commerce platform JioMart has likely emerged as the largest in the country, vying with quick commerce rivals like Zomato-owned Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and BigBasket, thanks to its expansive network and strategically positioned dark stores.
Additionally, Reliance Retail announced the expansion of its non-grocery quick hyper-local commerce network to 682 electronics locations and over 1,700 fashion and lifestyle outlets, promising delivery within two hours.
JioMart, Reliance Retail’s hyperlocal commerce division, has created the most extensive network in the nation, serving 1,200 cities through a combination of 3,100 stores, including dark and walk-in stores, Reliance Retail CFO Dinesh Taluja stated during the earnings call.

Reliance Retail has also integrated its electronics stores and over 1,700 fashion outlets onto the platform, providing a unique two-hour delivery service due to the density of its network.
“This service is particularly unique to us because no one else possesses the kind of network density we have,” he explained, adding, “While many focus on multi-categories through their dark stores, the variety remains limited in those cases. Conversely, we can offer the full assortment of each store on a hyperlocal basis.”
The platform is additionally broadening its reach through third-party sellers to fill market gaps and deliver a comprehensive offering to customers. “Alongside our single catalogue, we are also partnering with third-party sellers… allowing customers to access a complete array of products and shop effectively,” he noted.
