David Warner faces allegations of drunk driving, according to Cricket NSW.
Former Australia cricketer David Warner has been charged by police following an alleged drunk-driving incident in Sydney, as announced by Cricket NSW on Wednesday.

Warner, who has participated in 112 Test matches, 161 one-day internationals, and 110 T20 internationals, continues to play T20 cricket both domestically in Australia and globally since his international retirement in 2024.

Currently, he is leading the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League and was reportedly allowed time off to celebrate Easter with his family in Australia.
“Cricket NSW strongly promotes safe driving practices, including avoiding drunk driving, and treats incidents of this nature with utmost seriousness,” said Lee Germon, CEO of Cricket NSW, in a statement.

“David understands the gravity of these allegations. We will support him through the upcoming process and collaborate on further educating him and all players about the importance of safe driving.”

Reports indicate that Warner was found to be more than twice the legal limit for driving. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 7 in Sydney.
